We spent the day at this seaside town, unfortunately it was a very grey day. This used to be a favourite place
for Londoners to have a day or week by the seaside. When I was a boy we had a
number of family days out at Margate, we would catch a pleasure boat called the
MV Royal Daffodil from Southend pier and travel down the Thames.
Dreamland.
We paid a
visit to the Turner Contemporary Gallery named after one of Margate’s most famous visitors
& occasional resident, the artist William Turner. I was told that this building has
been constructed on the site of where he used to lodge when he was staying in
Margate.
One of the exhibits for visitors to interact with. I found this lovely man with so much character & asked him to pose for me.
