We have had a couple of days around the Bristol area. We
spent the first day at Laycock Abbey, home of the birth of photography. This
post is all about the Cloisters more posts will follow soon.
Monday 2nd Carol and I took a walk through the grounds of
Wimpole Hall.
Wimpole’s Folly or to give it’s proper title, Wimpole’s Gothic Tower.
This Gothic Tower, designed to look like a picturesque medieval ruin, is based on a sketch by the architect Sanderson Miller in 1749 for his patron, Lord Hardwicke, the owner of Wimpole. Full story here.
