Blake Hall Bobbingworth

This was my second visit to this wonderful building and gardens. My first visit can be seen here I can recommend a visit when the gardens are open to the public. As this is one of the most popular wedding venues, access is limited to a few days each year. The best place to find out the dates and times is via the National Garden Scheme their website here

Clavering Gardens NGS Open Day

Clavering Gardens.

Bank Holiday Monday, 06th May we visited three gardens.
Garden 1. Chestnut Cottage, Clavering. This is a terraced garden giving lovely views over the area. It also has the smallest thatched cottage in the county. I have two photos taken from inside with a fisheye lens, giving an unusual result.

The National Gardens Scheme website can be found here

A short walk through the church yard brings you to, Garden 2 Piercewebbs

Piercewebbs:
"Formal old walled garden, shrubs, lawns, ha-ha, yew with topiary, stilt hedge, pond and trellised rose garden. Landscaped field walk. Extensive views over countryside."

A short drive brings you to Garden 3 Wickets Langley Upper Green
"Peaceful country garden ‘Far from the Madding Crowd’. Wide, informal mixed borders include, shrub roses and perennials. Two landscaped meadows and shepherd’s hut with fine pastoral views. Large lily pond sheltered by silver birch. Griffin Glasshouse nearby. Curvilinear design links themed planting areas. Espalier apples enclose parterre with standard weeping roses. Secluded Dry Garden."
