Flatford

A few shots from my visit on Sunday to the National Trust Flatford.

Willy Lott's House.

The next few shots are for Evan.  He was enjoying a course being held at the Flatford Mill field studies centre.

Flatford

Carol and I wanted to see Nerine McIntyre’s completed painting of Flatford .This was her prize commission for the National Trust for winning the Sky Landscape Artist of the year 2015. The painting is on show in the cafeteria. We had enjoyed the series so it was good to see the finished work.

Here are a few shots I took of the area on the day. The light was very low in the southern sky so not ideal for shooting subjects such as Willy Lott’s Cottage but good practice anyway.

Flatford Mill

Today’s sortie was to Flatford Mill, made famous by John Constable’s The Haywain. This location for a photographer is without a doubt full of chocolate box or postcard type images, however in spite of this I had a good day trying to capture these few shots.

The National Trust had arranged for a sheep shearing demonstration to be done by their farm manager and his staff.
