This Spitfire has a very interesting history. Located in the Duxford IWM. “The Spitfire lost for almost 50 years” The aircraft crashed on Calais beach during “Operation Dynamo” Having shot down a Junkers Ju 87 Stuka dive-bomber she was shot down in turn & crashed on the beach. She lay hidden under the sands of the beach. See the complete story here
