Cambridge American Cemetery and Memorial

On my way home I visited the WW2 American monument, I had hoped to get some good sunset images but unfortunately the sun was not in a good position and I was too late to get the shots I wanted.

I looked up this airman’s war record and found the story of his tragic death one month before VE Day. It can be seen here & here. He died the same day I was born.

Abney Park Cemetery Stoke Newington

A few shots from Sunday’s club outing to this cemetery. Abney Park is one of London’s famous Victorian cemeteries, now designated a park and wild life centre but it still has the occasional burial.

Over the years there has been so many graves dug & they are located very close to each other so the whole area is slowly subsiding making for a very interesting landscape of tombstones in various states of decay and leaning at most precarious angles.

One of the many artists taking an opportunity to capture an image of this iconic grave yard.
