Flatford

Carol and I wanted to see Nerine McIntyre’s completed painting of Flatford .This was her prize commission for the National Trust for winning the Sky Landscape Artist of the year 2015. The painting is on show in the cafeteria. We had enjoyed the series so it was good to see the finished work.

Here are a few shots I took of the area on the day. The light was very low in the southern sky so not ideal for shooting subjects such as Willy Lott’s Cottage but good practice anyway.

How Hill Norfolk

In my opinion this is one of the most beautiful spots on the Broads. The environmental study centre is located here it has a number of nature trails ideal for bird watchers and photographers. Unfortunately I was not able to visit these trails as they were closed due to the current conditions after some recent poor weather, as a consequence my photography was kept by the river.

Ludham Bridge

This Norfolk Broads' beauty spot is a very good place to tie up & overnight. 

Passing through the bridge

Seven feet of clearance is required to pass under any of the bridges on the Norfolk Broads & as you approach these bridges the height available is clearly shown. The Broads are tidal plus after heavy rain fall the rivers rise beyond safe navigation. This means that all of the yachts must lower their masts and in the case of the boats without an auxiliary engine must then punt their way through the bridge.

Evening Weather
