Day one.
I had been watching the UK weather for sometime to find a settled period for us to take a holiday. Well the opportunity arrived towards the middle part of June. The best of the weather was to be found over Cornwall so, I very quickly found a small cottage located fifty yards from the beach at Porthtowan, just between St Agnes and Godrevy on the north coast of Conwall, perfect. I booked ten days and we were on our way by Friday. The journey down was slower than normal due to heavy traffic and road works. We arrived about 8 hours after setting out, early evening (normally it takes about five hours). I rapidly unpacked the car and headed for the beach to catch the sunset. There were much better sunsets to come.
