West Mersea

We paid a visit to Mersea Island on Wednesday the 26th. It was a very bright and warm early autumn day. A very pleasant walk, there were very few people about, I love this time of the year. Mersea has a causeway, The Strood, which floods on the high tide so you have to be aware of the tide times. Today we arrived just before the high tide, so once you are on the Island you are there for at least the next hour.

Duxford After The Show

This last weekend was Duxford’s air show, a tribute to the Battle of Britain. I managed to spend Friday watching the preparation, see my previous post. I visited again today to see if there were many aircraft departing. Here are a few shots from my visit.

History of SPITFIRE/SM845. I have found a sales advert for this aircraft offering it for £1,700,000 (No date given). Fulfil my boyhood dream if my numbers come up on the lottery.
