There was a considerable number of miniature steam engines on display and working. I am amazed at the number of hours of engineering these guys put into making their project. Most engines take a minimum of two years. The detail in these engines is fantastic, every engine has to pass the same boiler test as a full size engine, after all the boiler is a potential bomb so it has to be tested on a regular basis to make sure that it is safe.
There were a number of fairground organs at the show. This organ is a recent new build, started in 1982 & finished in 1999 installed in a vintage Bedford lorry. It is believed to be the largest mechanical organ ever built in the UK.
One of the most interesting working exhibits is this very early horse drawn fire engine, steam driven pump.
