Harvest 2019

It’s that time of the year when all the farms in my part of the world, Essex & Hertfordshire, are ready to have their crops gathered in. Most of the fields have turned a beautiful golden colour, so I spent a few days gathering images of this year’s harvest.

This crop has been grown for a thatcher. I was attracted to this crop by the way it had been gathered. When I was a boy this was the way all crops where gathered in by the workers & put into stooks, now of course it is all done by machinery.

Now for some of the work that this crop will be used for.

These are some of the fields now ready to be harvested.

Marks Hall Sculpture 2019 Second Post

Marks Hall Sculpture Exhibition 2019. This is my second post with some more shots from this year’s exhibition. Most of these were taken of the exhibits on display out in the grounds. My first set were mainly from the walled garden. See here

Marks Hall Sculpture Exhibition 2019

Every two years Marks Hall holds its sculpture exhibition, this year it opens 20th July, 2019. I have been taking some shots of the exhibits as they have been setup. This year is looking spectacular, particularly in the walled garden, I have to say that the individual pieces fit in so well with the flower arrangements. Obviously, a lot of planning and thought goes into the placing of each item. The exhibition will be open until the 31st August, 2019
