Hanningfield Reservoir

The weather on Wednesday 10th was a reminder of our summer. Temperature at 23c and bright sunshine, we just had to visit this woodland and reservoir. The water level tells the tale of last summer's weather, it is clear to see, the reservoir has just 48% of its full level & they have stopped pumping water to the system. Anyway, we came to see the wooden sculptures celebrating the Wind in the Willows. All the characters are there, badger, ratty and of course toad. Children are encouraged to take brass rubbings of the name plates. Details can be found here. We will return when the autumn colours gain some strength.
