With the
weather forecast saying, bright all day we decided to visit a woodland and
pursue more autumn colours. The best places in this part of the world at this
time of the year are to be found in well run arboretums. This was my first time
visiting West Lodge, what a super place. This is very much a work in progress,
but it is without doubt one of the best in this part of the world and we will
revisit again soon.
We were
made very welcome, they say "The Beale Arboretum was established by Edward
Beale in 1963 with help from Frank Knight, Director of RHS Wisley and Derek
Honour, Trees Consultant for the GLC." Their details can be found
here.
