Today Marks Hall played host
to the Suffolk Punch Heavy Horses Society’s Spectacular.
They say “The
Suffolk Punch is the rarest of the UK’s Heavy Horses and this will be the
country’s biggest gathering. There will be horse drawn vehicles, working
demonstrations and you can talk to the owners and learn all about this
beautiful breed.”
This is an exercise in control. The horse goes around the
field towing a block of wood and then the handler must bring the horse to a
stop with the timber perfectly balanced. Such a difficult task, the handler was delighted & she hoped that I had taken the shot. Even the horse looked pleased with his ears fully erect and pointing forward, a good sign I understand. Apparently
horses communicate with their ears.
