Wimpole Hall Winter Festival

At Christmas time each year Wimpole hall opens part of the house to give a taste of how the members of the household, both above & below stairs enjoyed this annual celebration.  The National Trust allows photography on some of their properties but for good reason without using a flashgun or a tripod so photographers have to resort to using a high ISO (increasing the sensitivity of the camera) this creates a number of problems for the photographer which I have attempted to reduce, so the quality of these shots is not as high as I would like. I would also like to thank the staff and the volunteers for the cooperation.

Sunset on Royston Golf Course

As the sunsets this last week or so have been spectacular plus they are very early in the day, today’s sunset was at 15:51 I waited in one of my newly found favourite spots for nature to work her magic, I was not disappointed. I had the added fortune of a young couple and their dog walking by at the right moment. Here are a few shots I managed to capture.

Royston Golf Club

I spent some time taking shots on the heath by the golf course near Royston today. The members of the golf club are all very friendly and they did not seem to mind my brief intrusion into their game. I intend to return soon and see if I can get some more shots using a wider angle lens and capture more images of the course which is truly spectacular.

Winter on the beach

Today was a bright sunny December day, the sun was following a very low arc in the southern sky ideal for taking silhouettes so I took a trip to one of my favourite parts of the cost, Old Leigh.
