Wimpole Hall Blacksmith's Forge
I was invited by Magnus the Wimpole Hall blacksmith to do some photography in the Hall’s traditional forge. This is the original building with all of the blacksmith’s tools from the time when the hall was a working country estate. There is no electricity in the building so the light is very poor, the workshop is also very small and so I had limited space in which to work. Simon one of the other Wimpole guys was being given some tips by Magnus on the finer points of the craft.

Hedingham Castle Jousting & Falconry
The summer bank holiday weekend weather forecast promised some very wet weather, the best of the days was the Sunday, so Carol and I decided to pay a visit to see the jousting held at Hedingham Castle. It was a brilliant day out, the weather played it’s part giving us a very sunny day. The jousting performed by The Knights of Royal England gave us an excellent performance, their horsemanship was fantastic, it would make a good Olympic event. All in all this was an excellent family event involving the children in the pre-performance then the whole family being encouraged to take sides cheering on the blue or the red team, everyone enjoyed the day.
