Landscapes

On my way back from Shepreth Wildlife Park the weather had improved so I was able to get a few landscapes.

Shepreth Wildlife Park

Yesterday I visited this wildlife park just north of Royston. The weather was overcast so most of my shots were very flat so I have just put up a few. I am not a great lover of zoos, most of the time you can only get limited views of the animals but this park is very well run and all of the animals look well cared for.

Cambridgeshire Countryside

Recently I have taken to looking for out of the way places nearby to where I live. I just drive out into the country and then start turning down lanes and roads that I have no idea where they will lead.

Great Chishill Windmill website can be seen here.

Hertfordshire

I received my Fuji X-T1 back from the repair workshop and so I took it out & about to give it a work out. I was disappointed that somehow a very large piece of dirt had got behind the low pass filter. I was very surprised that dirt could get into this area of the camera as this camera is supposed to be very well sealed against dirt and indeed water.  For me this just should not allow dirt or dust behind the low pass filter, this is a weakness in the design. An image of the dirt in place can be seen on my Blog Friday 31st March. On the positive side it was fixed very quickly but the bill was very high at a total of £156.00 with postage. I would not be amused if this was to happen again.

Catalina G-PBYA

I visited Duxford today and I had the good fortune to meet one of the crew of the Catalina
G-PBYA which is based there. He gave me a lot of information about this aircraft and he also showed me inside I took a few shots whilst I was on board. The history of this aircraft can be seen on the Catalina Society's website

My thanks to David for the time he spent with me.
