Epping Forest Biker's Cafe

High Beach is one of the popular meeting places for motorcyclists within easy reach of London. Sunday afternoons will see 50 plus bikers arriving for an afternoon get together, a chat & a mug of tea. There is just about every motorcycle ever made to be seen here from the vintage Vincent with it’s years of patina giving it that wonderful original look, all the way through to the shiny Yamaha R1 a bike that is capable of doing hundred and ninety MPH, so I am reliably informed. The people that meet here are absolute biking enthusiasts they are very friendly and ready to tell you all about their bikes.

Photographically I arrived late in the day and so the light was not at it's best. I will return and try and get some better shots in the very near future.

West Mersea

After my visit to East Mersea earlier today I revisited this more popular part of the Island looking for a decent sunset but yet again I had to make do with just a modest end of the day. I will just have to keep trying but that’s no hardship I just love this part of the world in the winter. Once again the high tide is not the best time to visit, it removes all the character from the shore.

I met a drone pilot and we enjoyed the setting sun following a respective hobbies. Here is his drone coming into land as the battery had run down.

East Mersea

This part of the east coast is pretty barren but it has a beauty of it’s own. Today was not the best time to shoot here. It was almost high tide and I can see that the best time will be around the low tide mark when the mud flats will be exposed and the seashore will reveal lots of shapes and a lot more interest. I guess I will have to return another day.  I like these winter days when the beaches are deserted and you just have the occasional dog walker.

Felixstowe

Continuing with my run around the east coast we visited the port of Felixstowe. Not the most inspiring of seaside places, with the limited views of the port.

Twirl

A few attempts at abstract Photoshop art courtesy of Barry Badcock LRPS. The technique called ‘Twirl’ is well documented on the Internet and is lots of fun.
