Butterflies on a Windy Day

I had a booking to visit Hatfield Forest today. The weather was forecast to deteriorate by early afternoon so, I only had a couple of hours. The wind was steadily increasing throughout the walk, so I did not expect to get any photos of butterflies, but I found a few sheltered spots to get a few shots.

A walk around Hatfield Forest

I returned for another go at the butterflies at Hatfield forest this morning. Unfortunately, the weather was cooler and there was a turbulent wind making the butterflies less in evidence and much more skittish. All I could find was a few very tatty specimens. Still I had a great walk.

Butterflies at Hatfield Forest

Since lockdown has curtailed my landscape & aviation photography I have become interested in taking shots of butterflies. I have been shooting lots of Peacock Butterflies on my Buddleia bush, problem is that there are very few, if any other species visiting my garden. So today whilst taking a walk in Hatfield forest I spent some time shooting whatever I could find.
